Bridle Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
This page is a working draft pending final legal review. Bridle is committed to the principles described below; the formal policy will follow the same structure and live at this same URL.
Who we are
Bridle operates an online marketplace for horses, connecting buyers, sellers, and transporters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to both the Bridle website and the Bridle native mobile applications (iOS and Android).
Information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Account information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and any optional biography or location text.
- Listing content when you list a horse for sale: photos, videos, descriptions, price, pickup location, and breed / discipline / temperament attributes.
- Usage information the app records automatically: pages viewed, listings saved, searches performed, messages sent, transport quotes requested, and device / browser metadata needed for security and performance monitoring.
How we use information
- To operate the marketplace and match buyers with sellers
- To send transactional notifications (messages, transport quotes, account events)
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud or abuse
- To improve search ranking, recommendations, and product features
- To communicate with you about your account or new features (you can opt out of non-essential email at any time in account settings)
Who we share information with
Bridle does not sell personal information. We share information only with the following categories of recipients:
- Other Bridle users when you choose to interact with them (eg a buyer messages a seller; a transporter receives a quote request)
- Service providers who operate infrastructure on our behalf (hosting, payments, push notifications, analytics). These providers are contractually limited to using information for the services they perform for Bridle.
- Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
Your choices
- Access and correction: you can review and edit your account information at any time in account settings.
- Deletion: you can delete your account, which removes your profile and listings. Some information (eg completed transactions, audit logs required for fraud prevention) may be retained as required by law.
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications and most emails in account settings.
- Location: the Bridle app may request approximate location for search results. You can deny or revoke this in your device settings.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls on internal systems, and third-party payment processing (Stripe) so card information never touches Bridle servers. No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Children
Bridle is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
